Knicks Early Season Update...
So I haven't written much about the Knicks since the beginning of the season mostly because they are doin' their thing so far this season. They currently sit at 11-4, tied with the Brooklyn Nets for the Atlantic Division lead, after they blew out the Washington Wizards last night at the Garden. The Knicks have been fairly consistent on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, except for on that little road trip they had in Texas in which they gave up 131 points to the Houston Rockets. Melo has been BALLIN' and distributing the ball well, and J.R. has been surprisingly more consistent and not just settling for poor, out of control shots like he had been last season.
In terms of injuries, we are still waiting on the return of Iman Shumpert, Stat, and now Jason Kidd. The Kidd injury is recent and as of now doesn't seem too serious, while Shumpert still isn't expected back into the lineup till sometime in February or possibly later. The good news is that Stat is now expecting a come-back at the end of this month, and there is a chance that he may play as the Knicks travel to L.A. to face off against the Lakers on Christmas day!
Anyways, the Knicks need to keep up the good play and consistency on both sides of the ball because it appears that we could be up against a long-term battle against the Nets for the division lead. Oh, and we mustn't count those sneaky Celtics out of the picture as well. They are known for creepin' back into their strong form at crucial points in the season. Smooches to my Knicks!!
