Obama Speaks on Trayvon Martin...

I really should have posted about this entire situation earlier, and I apologize for that. But, if you haven't heard of the shooting of Trayvon Martin you're obviously living under a rock or fuckin stupid. Trayvon, at the young age of 17, was shot and killed by some fucking idiot motherfucker scumoftheearth, George Zimmerman, from his neighborhood on his way home for seemingly no apparent reason. George Zimmerman is supposedly known in his gated neighborhood in Florida for being on the lookout for people that he claims to be "suspicious", which I'm sure includes mostly every black person he's ever seen in his entire life.

This Zimmerman asshole claimed that Trayvon was armed, when in fact all Trayvon ended up having was a bag of skittles and an Arizona Iced Tea on him. George Zimmerman called the police claiming Trayvon was looking suspicious, code word for a young black man out in public, and some sort of dispute followed. Zimmerman then claimed self-defense after shooting Trayvon Smith dead. From Trayvon's girlfriend's account, it sounds as if Trayvon was scared because some random ass dude was following him, (George Zimmerman) and probably tried to fight him off in the end.

The police has been extremely shady throughout this whole thing and of course have sided with Zimmerman in this case. I don't know everything about this entire story yet, but the most fucked up thing about this whole thing (besides the fact that Trayvon Smith is dead obviously), is that Zimmerman hasn't been charged with anything because he's claiming self-defense, and I guess as of now, there is nothing to disprove this evidence-wise. Apparently Trayvon was deemed particularly "threatening" because he was wearing a hoodie, which now is becoming a symbolic sign of support for Trayvon in the aftermath with the public.

Anyways, here's President Obama speaking a bit on this horrible tragedy that took place. I hope Zimmerman gets what's coming for him, and that this story for as awful as it is, gets a great deal of contiuned attention concerning the mistreatment of black men especially within the justice system in this country. Shit is still fucked here, and we are obviously far from change, unfortunately.
