Rihanna's Talk that Talk debuted at #3 on the Billboard charts here in the U.S. selling 197,000 copies in it's first week, 10,000 less than her Loud debut. She debuted at #1 on the U.K. Billboard charts selling 163,000 in the first week.
Riri has always been an interesting case for me because despite the fact that she's a global mega superstar and has almost more #1 singles than any other artist in this past decade (she may have the most #1 singles but I'm too lazy to check), she has YET to have an album debut at #1 in the U.S. I'd hate to take it there, but this is probably a signal to the fact that she is putting out hot packaged tracks rather than delivering albums of any real substance. It seems fairly evident that Riri will never sell over 500,000 in a week like her counterparts Drake or Beyonce. Usually her albums end up selling a shit ton of copies no matter how they debut though which is definitely a positive. Anyways congrats to Riri & smooches & plantanes na.
